QMA EMPLOYS PMV COMPRESSED AIR TECHNOLOGY FOR MACHINE RESTORATION.

  • by

With a growing business in the restoration of large scale mining and construction machinery, QMA Blasting and Painting needed to boost their compressed air supply to power their core operations.

Their old 75Kw, fixed speed compressor was struggling to keep pace with the required output and it was obviously time to upgrade to cater for immediate and future demands.

Performance efficiency and energy cost savings were the criteria for their selection of a new compressor. After only one day of trialling a 55kW, 2 stage, Permanent Magnet, Variable frequency machine from Kaishan Australia, QMA was so impressed with the performance that the decision to purchase was made.

By upgrading from a fixed speed compressor to variable frequency, the PMV machine gives QMA the ability to control the output to exactly meet demand for air at any time minimising power input over the total operating period. Whilst the PMV machine is powered by a smaller permanent magnet motor, it provides greater output through the advanced variable speed and 2 stage technology thereby using much less input energy.

This advanced technology air compressor was specified after a Kaishan technical evaluation of customer requirements including flow, load testing, power requirements and energy efficiencies.

With a large percentage of Australian manufacturing, processing and engineering industries relying on compressed air to power their production and pressure tool lines, yesterday’s conventional air compressors simply use too much energy input to meet demand.

Compressed air operators can benefit greatly from new compressor technologies that can maintain or increase demand output whilst lowering the input energy costs. As with QMA, the savings can more than pay for the capital investment in new machinery over a relatively short time. Power consumption is a significant cost throughout the life of a compressor; therefore, it is important to consider the life cycle cost of a compressed air system when evaluating productivity improvements.

PMV ROTARY SCREW COMPRESSORS

The newest world class initiative is Kaishan’s Permanent Magnet, Variable Frequency (PMV) technology that combines integrated systemic optimization of the compressor unit with an advanced permanent magnet motor, SKY airend and rapid response, variable speed drive. This results in the smaller, permanent magnet, synchronous torque motor needing far less energy input to drive a highly engineered, efficient compressor whilst generating greater output than equivalent conventional compressors.

Rare Earth Technology gives the permanent magnet motor superior energy efficiency compared to conventional induction motors. PM synchronous torque motors provide faster acceleration and deceleration, a great advantage in compressor applications as they can rapidly vary output to match application demands.

The integral Variable Speed Control means the compressor only operates at the level of immediate demand, reducing both input energy needs, machine wear and tear and maintenance requirements. These highly advanced air compressors deliver world class efficiency and performance in a heavy duty unit that ensures superior durability and reliability. Innovative design and precision engineering integrates the latest compressed air technologies to achieve energy standards exceeding international expectations.

Kaishan energy saving PMV cair compressors are combined with high performance inline  components to design and install highly efficient compressed air systems to manage a wide variety of industrial applications. With capacities from 15 to 250kW this new energy saving compressed air technology is applied where complete output control is required throughout varied demands.

High tech industries where precision applications are vital and industries requiring a reliable high delivery of controlled quality air to operate machinery and processes throughout the plant.

Industries including general manufacturing, food processing, heavy engineering, aerospace  and other high energy users can greatly reduce input energy bills by installing or upgrading to a PMV machine.

Bobby Bigham, owner of QMA stated: “We were initially hesitant to invest in compressed air technology that was completely new to us, but after the first day of a one week trial installation we were totally convinced it would more than do the job. Since then our electricity consumption has been reduced by around 50% every month. We are very pleased with the product and service we received from Kaishan Australia”.
